What is it?

There are a variety of products and formulations on the market that provide these “phospho-lipids.” The generic term for this is phosphatidyl serine, choline and ethanolamine which can be found in certain supplements. There is a chemical variation of phosphatidyl serine called “phosphorylated” or “phospho”-serine, choline and ethanolamine. This chemical variation is in supplements like Enerphos, Serine Sleep and Seriphos.

What does it do?

PS helps reduce elevated cortisol levels and balance erratic cortisol levels during times of stress. It is useful in the treatment of insomnia—a common complaint of most Adrenal Dysfunction patients—because it assists with balancing erratic sleep/wake cycles by balancing cortisol. They are especially useful in reducing the evening cortisol levels, elevation of which is a common pattern in Adrenal Dysfunction.
