Betaine HCl 100 Capsules

What does it help with?

The healthy stomach secretes hydrochloric acid (HCl) in response to the ingestion of a meal. This acidification of food initiates and enhances the chemical breakdown and absorption of all nutrients especially iron, calcium, zinc, copper, folic acid, B12 and other B vitamins, proteins, and trace minerals. HCl also provides a chemical barrier by killing or sterilizing the stomach contents in the prevention of bacterial, parasitic, and fungal gastrointestinal infections. 

Low stomach acid (hypo-chlorhydria) is commonly found and is worsened by stress, poor diet, and age; hypochlorhydria leads to the inadequate absorption of the nutrients mentioned above. Also, the poor breakdown of proteins commonly leads to allergic reactions and promotes the development of autoimmune diseases.
